Types of Study Visa in USA
There are three categories of student visas in the United States:
1. F1 Visa
The F1 Visa is intended for international students who wish to study full-time at a recognized high school, college, university, or other academic institution.
- F1 student visa holders must maintain their full-time student status and may work up to 20 hours/week.
- International students with an F1 visa must complete their course before their I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status) expires.
2. M1 Visa:
The M1 Visa is intended for international students who wish to study full-time in any vocational or other recognized non-academic institution other than a language training program.
- M1 student visa holders are not permitted to work while studying.
- Students applying for an M1 visa must show proof of enough funds to pay their tuition and living expenses throughout their stay.
3. J1 Visa:
The J1 visas are granted to international students with whom the United States has agreements who wish to study for a period of 12 months.
- This Visa is granted to overseas students who require practical training that is not accessible in their native country in order to complete their academic program.
- This student visa allows for 20 hours of part-time work per week. International students, on the other hand, must acquire authorization from the exchange visitor program sponsor to work.

Eligibility Requirements for a USA Study Visa
