Working Rights in UK

Work in the UK is permitted during study for up to 20 hours a week. Students can work 40 hours per week during vacations. Undergraduate students can only work 10 hours per week throughout their study session.

During the off-season, students at government-funded public colleges can do any full-time job. International students at private colleges are not permitted to work full-time or part-time.

Undergraduate students are not permitted to stay in the UK after completing their degrees. On a work visa, Ph.D. students can only stay for one year.

Furthermore, every year, one thousand excellent students are allowed to stay in the UK for a work after completing their education. They can later apply for permanent residence.

Eligibility Requirements for a UK Study Visa

UK Study Visa are granted to students pursuing full-time degrees at recognized universities in the United Kingdom. There are several rules and guidelines that you must follow in order to obtain higher education in the UK.

Following are the requirements for obtaining a UK study permit.

Applicant must be at least 16 years old.
The applicant must be enrolled in a full-time degree program at any British university.
The applicant must have sufficient financial resources to cover the cost of the course as well as their living expenses while enrolled. Any financial sponsor's approval must be provided in the application.
To get admitted to the university, the applicant must score 40 on the assessment criteria.
Depending on the course and country, an ATAS certificate is necessary.
A clear tuberculosis test record as well as a medical test is required, before entering in the UK.
For a successful visa application, the applicant must show that he intends to return to his native country after completing the course.
